Seasons

 

春有山青水绿,万紫千红。夏有夏雨绵绵,艳阳高照。秋有秋高气爽,硕果累累。冬有白雪皑皑,洁白无瑕。可人们在同样的时间里奔跑,错过了桃花送走雪花春风唤醒田蛙的春,错过了浪花裂开心花荷盖展开青霞的夏,错过了稻禾沾满金露树木寄走一封封枯叶的秋,错过了山坡覆白雪水面凝银冰的冬。人们应该在这样的季节这样的景色中踱步,让一个个脚印有翡翠的韵脚金银的注释。这才是我们的世界!

John: You seem rather down (心情低落,沮丧) today? What's eating you (你遇到什么麻烦了)?

Mark: Jack seems to have a bone to pick with (对某人有意见) me.

John: Why don't you clear the air (消除疑虑) and have a heart-to-heart talk with him?

Mark: He always carries a chip on his shoulder. (易怒,爱和人吵架)

John: What is he after (追求)?

Mark: No idea.

John: You mean he just fancies getting your back up (惹某人生气)?

Mark: He seemed to be beside himself (自负,得意忘形) these days.

John: He speaks evil of (说某人的坏话) more than yourself?

Mark: Yes. He's constantly crawling around (在某人屁股后面转,巴结某人)the boss and look down upon (瞧不起某人)us.

John: Now I can see the point. He wants to get the upper hand (占上风) in the office and get promoted.

Mark: But the boss is not someone he can lead.

John: In that case, you should not throw in the towel. (认输)

Mark: I wouldn't. But he smites with his tongue. (血口喷人,胡说八道)

John: It seems to me that the only way to deal with him is to tip your hands. (宣布自己的意图,摊牌)

Mark: Joe and I are going to teach him a good lesson one of these days.

John: But you should handle the situation with kid gloves, (谨慎处理) or you will get the boss's goat (惹某人生气),too.

Mark: Thanks. We'll see which way the cat jumps (观望形势后再行动).
